LINCOLN COUNTY, OREGON
PREVENTION TRAINING
PREVENTION:
We believe that prevention education is the key to ending child abuse! We offer high-quality trainings in Lincoln County focused on preventing the sexual abuse of children.
Research about the effectiveness of Stewards of Children training in rural areas of Oregon found that 99% of the attendees recommend that friends and coworkers take the training, that participants were more likely to take actions by talking to kids about sexual abuse, making policy changes at churches and schools, talking with neighbors and friends about prevention, and offering advice and support to someone about child sexual abuse.
Programs targeting adult professionals and families focus on preventing, identifying, and responding to the sexual abuse of children. Learn how to keep children safe with some simple things that are easy to do. For example, one simple standard operating procedure is to never let a child be alone with an adult or an older child.
We offer a number of classes. The foundational class is named Stewards of Children. This class empowers adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse through awareness, education, and the reduction of stigma.
Additional classes can be taken after Stewards of Children so adults continue learning how to help the children in our community:
● Training: Bystanders Protecting Children from Boundary Violations & Sexual Abuse
● Training: Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children
● Training: Talking With Children About Safety from Sexual Abuse
● Training: Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
● Training: Healthy Touch for Children and Youth
This training has been funded by The Ford Family Foundation.
